Pride in the Park Returns to Chochenyo Park Oct. 10
Alameda Pride's biggest event of the year wraps with a free block party and a DJ on Alameda Avenue.

Alameda Pride is throwing its biggest event of the year again, and this time it spills out into the street for a DJ-fueled block party after dark.
When and where is Pride in the Park
Pride in the Park happens Saturday, October 10, from noon to 6 p.m. at Chochenyo Park, 2430 Encinal Avenue. It's free to get in and it's built for the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents.
Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, because that part's on you. Organizers are asking people to leave the outside coolers, glass containers, and outside alcohol at home. There's a drink area on site if you want something to sip.
What's actually happening at the park
- Food vendors, both local businesses and nonprofits
- Live performances running through the afternoon
- A kids zone for the little ones
- A bike valet if you'd rather pedal than drive
Parking near Chochenyo Park is tight, so it's worth planning ahead. There's a parking structure at Central Avenue and Oak Street that's an easy walk in, or you can take AC Transit, grab a rideshare, or use the bike valet.
The party moves to Alameda Avenue after dark
When the park event wraps at 6 p.m., the celebration just relocates. Alameda Avenue between Park and Oak streets turns into a free, all-ages block party from 6 to 9 p.m., with a DJ keeping people dancing.

Alameda Pride runs the event with a small army of volunteers, and it's grown into one of the bigger LGBTQ+ celebrations in the East Bay. For a lot of Alameda families, it's become a yearly tradition alongside the rest of the fall event calendar. It doesn't cost anything to walk in the gate, and between the vendors, the performances, and the block party after, you can turn it into a full afternoon and evening without spending much beyond a snack or a drink.
